Powerball and Megabucks Jackpots at Highest in Months
January jackpots are climbing for Wisconsin-only Megabucks and Powerball
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Lottery's Wisconsin-only lotto game Megabucks has an estimated jackpot of $8 million annuity, $6 million cash for the Wednesday, January 8 drawing. Since the game launched in 1992, only 14% of draws—specifically 396 of 2,875 draws—have had a jackpot higher than $8 million.
The multi-state Powerball jackpot continues to climb as well and the estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, January 8 drawing is $258 million annuity, $175.5 million cash. The Powerball jackpot has not been above the $250 million mark since June 2019.
The odds of winning the Megabucks jackpot are 1 in 6,991,908. Megabucks drawings are Wednesday and Saturday. Each set of two plays cost $1 per draw. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday to be included in that day's drawing.
