MADISON — This weekend, in a social media message to Wisconsinites, Gov. Tony Evers announced he is proclaiming tomorrow, June 30, “Wisconsin Kringle Day,” and the governor is encouraging Wisconsinites and Kringle enthusiasts both near and abroad to help celebrate by enjoying the delicious state delicacy on the anniversary of the date the Kringle became Wisconsin’s official state pastry. “Here in Wisconsin, Kringle holds a special place in our hearts and on our counters and tables—no birthday party, holiday, potluck, tailgate, or celebration is complete without one. I know no one needs an excuse to enjoy a Kringle any day of the year, but I’m jazzed to be proclaiming Wisconsin Kringle Day to celebrate the incredible bakers who keep this tradition and heritage alive,” said Gov. Evers. “Kringle is so much more than a pastry to us here in Wisconsin, so I encourage folks to get out and celebrate Wisconsin Kringle Day tomorrow by sharing a slice of Kringle with coworkers, friends, and neighbors—heck, even a stranger or two. Happy Kringle Day, Wisconsin!” |
