Gov. Evers, First Lady Celebrate Hanukkah in Wisconsin |
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers and First Lady Kathy Evers today shared a video message wishing Wisconsinites a happy Hanukkah as families and individuals across the state celebrate the start of The Festival of Lights. The governor and first lady’s video message is available here, and a transcript of the video message is available below. Governor: Hey there, folks. Kathy and I want to wish a very, very happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating across our state. First Lady: Every year, this eight-day celebration is a joyous time filled with lights, games, food, music, family, and friends. Governor: And celebrating the light and resilience that the holiday of Hanukkah represents is as important as ever, especially given all that’s going on in the world today. Governor: On behalf of Kathy and myself, we remain dedicated to creating a Wisconsin that stands against hate, celebrates diversity, and is inclusive of our Jewish friends and neighbors.
First Lady: That’s why Tony and I have been proud to host a Hanukkah celebration at the Executive Residence for the past six years to bring together Jewish leaders and community members to celebrate togetherness and light. |
