Foxconn highlights 2018 achievements
Foxconn Technology Group sent a letter to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) summarizing key highlights of the company’s achievements in Wisconsin throughout 2018.
Foxconn continues to make good progress on all fronts related to the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park, as well as its network of Innovation Centers established throughout Wisconsin to support the project and the state’s technology ecosystem. The company recently provided WEDC with highlights of its progress related to construction, hiring, environmental sustainability, educational initiatives, and community engagement.
In 2018, Foxconn made the strategic decision to broaden the base of its investment within the State of Wisconsin, far beyond what it initially planned, to ensure the company and its workforce will be positioned for long-term success.
While Foxconn remains committed to creating 13,000 jobs in Wisconsin, it has adjusted its recruitment and hiring timeline. As a company with operations around the world, Foxconn needs to have the agility to adapt to a range of factors, including global economic conditions. It has done so while simultaneously advancing other aspects of the project and achieving its foremost priority for 2018 – creating a solid foundation upon which the Wisconsin project can continue to grow further.
Foxconn has created 1,032 jobs in support of the project and 178 of those jobs met the requirement for the 2018 round of investment tax credits/co-investment from the state. For that reason, Foxconn will not seek the first round of co-investment from the state.

Road Updates
I-94 North-South Freeway
Work continues along I-94, with most of the major work focused on the segment between Seven Mile Road and Ryan Road. All traffic in this segment will shift to the northbound lanes by the end of this month, weather permitting. Three lanes of traffic remain available in both directions during daytime hours. During the week of January 21, the I-94 east (SB) exit ramp to Seven Mile Road will close until early summer. The Seven Mile Road entrance ramp to I-94 east (SB) will also close during the same time period.
Ryan Road now open
The new bridge and lanes on Ryan Road are now open. WisDOT thanks travelers and the community for their patience during this project.

The project will install traffic signals at the County KR and Braun Road intersections, as well as at a new access road into the Foxconn Technology Park development. Foxconn expected to bring opportunities disruption across industries
Foxconn is changing the game in southeastern Wisconsin, and it’s creating plenty of opportunities for business leaders who are ready and threatens to leave behind those who are not. That was the consensus among a panel of industry-leading experts at “Key Industries for Wisconsin in 2019 and Beyond,” hosted by the Waukesha County Business Alliance.
“I can’t picture a company, whether they have any hope of directly serving Foxconn or not, not being transformatively affected by what’s happening here,” said Michael Mooney, chairman and principal of Brookfield-based MLG Capital LLC. “Whether it’s about their supply chain or their labor supply or their wage rates, or any number of other things, it’s going to ramp up the game for everybody.”
