Happy Veterans Day to Our Heroes and Their Families

E Update - Veterans Day

Since 1918, our nation has set aside November 11 as Veterans Day to recognize and honor the selfless, tireless work of our Armed Forces in defending and maintaining the ideals America was founded on. Our gifts of freedom—the opportunities to choose where to work, what to believe, and how to live our lives—come to us only as the result of the bravery and sacrifices of our service members and veterans.

It’s important we support our veterans and remember their dedicated service every day, but this Saturday we will pause and reflect to commemorate them with a special word of thanks. Although our gratitude alone can never fully express our appreciation, it is still vital for our service members and veterans to know we are thinking of them and we recognize the work they do to keep us safe and free.

As Wisconsinites and Americans, we would do well to follow our veterans’ example by giving more of ourselves to others and our communities. In doing so, we pay tribute to their sacrifices on behalf of the liberty we all enjoy.

Happy Veterans Day to all our veterans, service members, and their families.

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Wisconsin’s State Capitol

E Update - Capitol Anniversary

Throughout the year, we’ve commemorated our State Capitol building on its Centennial Anniversary, culminating in this week’s 100th Anniversary State Capitol Commemorative Commission Formal Gala, with proceeds going towards the Capitol’s historical preservation.

The Wisconsin State Capitol is a powerful symbol of democracy and government, and is one of the state’s most valued treasures. With unique features like the ‘Resources of Wisconsin’ mural, badger statue made from bronze ship cannons, and ‘Wisconsin’ statue atop the dome, it’s no wonder this beautiful building was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2001 and continues to attract and inspire awe in visitors from around the world every year.

I encourage the people of Wisconsin to come tour our impressive State Capitol and take the opportunity to learn more about the distinguished history of our state, its government, and its people.

We enjoy sharing all the great news about our state with you. It is an honor to serve as your Governor and represent the people of Wisconsin.

Sincerely,
