We’ve seen the federal government in Washington continue to
grow and become more and more hungry for power over the years. Meanwhile,
states like Wisconsin often become mere administrative provinces. This is not
the vision our founders had for America.
It’s time to reverse this trend. That’s why yesterday, we
sent President-elect Donald J. Trump a letter laying out a few actions we
believe his administration should take immediately upon taking office to
restore state control over the governance of several programs and services as
well as rein in federal overreach.
I’ve also asked my cabinet secretaries to carefully review
all programs and federal mandates that add cost to our taxpayers, limit the
flexibility of effective governance, and interfere with private sector growth.
I encourage other governors to do the same, and we look forward to working with
President-elect Trump and his administration to improve the relationship
between federal government and states.
A copy of my letter to President-elect Trump is linked below
so you can learn more about the specific actions we’ve requested.
This morning, I held my third Facebook Live session at the Executive Residence.
Thank you to all who submitted questions via my Facebook and Twitter pages. This is a great way for us to stay in contact with you, the people of Wisconsin, and answer your questions directly.

We enjoy sharing all the great news about our state with you. It is an honor to serve as your Governor and represent the people of Wisconsin.
Sincerely,
Governor Scott Walker
