Now Accepting Art Proposals for the
Great Lakes Tribal Public Health Conference: Bridging Wellness Across the Great Lakes Region
 Overview
GLITEC is excited to announce a Call for Conference Art Proposals. Indigenous artists are encouraged to submit original artwork that can be used starting this winter for GLITEC’s new annual conference called the Great Lakes Tribal Public Health Conference: Bridging Wellness Across the Great Lakes Region. This conference aims to unite Tribes and Tribal partners in improving community health across the Great Lakes region and nationwide.
The selected artwork will be featured on a variety of conference-related items. This includes the event’s logo, promotional materials, signage, agenda, and more.

More Details
For more information about this Call for Conference Art opportunity, view the information sheet. Some of the main takeaways are provided below.
Artist Compensation
- The selected artist will receive a stipend of up to $1,200.
- A free vendor booth at the conference.
Artwork Eligibility
- There is no requirement regarding subject matter. The art should represent the Great Lakes region. The art should visually embody the conference’s core mission to unite Tribes and Tribal partners in improving community health across the Great Lakes region and nationwide.
- Artwork must be suitable for use in the conference’s digital and printed materials. GLITEC will prioritize proposed artwork that we can easily adjust each year to help distinguish one year from the next (e.g., allowing part of the artwork’s color to be changed each year, etc.).
- GLITEC welcomes artwork in a variety of media. However, GLITEC will not consider film and other moving images or objects whose impact results from moving parts.
Submission Requirements
- Ways to submit:
- Artists may submit up to three proposals for consideration.
- Submissions must include an artist’s statement, brief proposal regarding the proposed artwork, and a portfolio of previous work.
