Service Provider Waitlists Across Wisconsin
As a part of DVR's ongoing capacity planning and communication efforts, we are sharing a statewide snapshot of current Service Provider waitlist information. This information is intended to help Service Providers and DVR staff better understand current service availability and capacity across the state, and help identify areas where additional capacity or other strategies may be needed as consumers continue to be activated from the OOS waitlist. Please note, this update reflects Service Provider waitlist information, not DVR's OOS waitlist.

At a Glance
- As of August 31, 2026, 199 consumers statewide were on a Service Provider waitlist.
- A total of 31 providers currently report an active waitlist (out of 177 total statewide Service Providers).
- Provider waitlists were reported in 9 of 11 WDAs and affected 7 statewide services, although the number of consumers on provider waitlists is concentrated to a smaller number of WDAs and services. Specifically, WDA 10 currently accounts for 160 of the 199 consumers on a provider waitlist.
- Supported Employment and Job Development services have the greatest number of consumers on a provider waitlist for services, followed by Student Work-Based Learning.

Total consumers reported on Service Provider waitlists historically, by month
Note: Monthly totals reflect provider-reported waitlist data available. Some historical months do not have a recorded total and are therefore not shown as zero.
What the trend shows: The number of consumers on provider waitlists increased through spring 2025, reaching a high of 667 consumers in May 2025, before declining substantially to 199 consumers in August 2026. Part of this decline may be attributed to DVR staff efforts to review and clean up incorrect provider waitlist information, as well as the implementation of the DVR OOS waitlist in early December 2025.

- Service Provider waitlist information is based on data reported and maintained by providers in the DVR Provider Portal and represents a snapshot as of August 31, 2026. The accuracy of this information depends on providers maintaining current waitlist information, including appropriately managing consumers on their waitlists.
- As a result, the data may not reflect real-time capacity or availability. These figures should be viewed as a snapshot of the provider waitlist information currently available to DVR.
- Providers are encouraged to regularly review and update waitlist information and purchase orders (POs) to ensure DVR and other providers have the most accurate picture of current service availability.
