An Equal Rights Division Communication
Need help? File a complaint online.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Equal Rights Division enforces over 40 different labor standards and civil rights laws, including discrimination in employment and housing, FMLA, and unpaid wages. Our mission is to protect the rights of all people in Wisconsin by investigating complaints and seeking resolution through the mediation or hearing process. But we can't investigate conduct we are unaware of, so if you think your employer has violated your rights, file a complaint online. The process is safe, secure, and easy.
Create a DWD ID
Filing a labor standards or civil rights complaint online is easy. Visit the DWD Equal Rights website to learn more. You will need a DWD ID to log in and file a complaint, but creating your ID is simple and can be completed in just a few minutes. If you have registered with the DWD for other services, including worker's compensation or unemployment insurance, you already have a DWD ID, and you may use the same ID to file your complaint.
Confirm your email
If you are a first time user, you will be asked to confirm your email before logging in to file a complaint. If you already have a DWD ID, you can simply log in and file your complaint.
File your complaint
Identify which type of complaint you are filing, and use the tabs at the top of the page to work your way through the complaint form.
