Nursing Specialist, Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove

The Nursing Specialist functions as the Infection Control Nurse for WVHUG and is responsible for planning, providing and evaluating educational programs for personnel and members at the facility. The incumbent designs, coordinates, implements and monitors new employee orientation programming and functions as a primary instructor for other healthcare training, including education for all staff on infection control. The position ensures nursing education is provided in accordance with federal and state laws and administrative codes, government and industry regulations and standards, and the mission, philosophy, policies and procedures of the WDVA and WVHUG. The Nursing Specialist assists in the review and maintenance of facility policies and procedures, disseminates information to staff, and acts as a resource person on committees and projects, as assigned. The position is the facility subject matter expert regarding infection control and geriatric nursing care standards.

Starting salary is between $76,960and $85,280 per year, depending on candidate qualifications, plus an attractive employee benefits package.
