DSPS Secretary-Designee Crim Announces Additional Leadership Team Appointments
Madison, WI – The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) Secretary-designee Dawn B. Crim announced two additional appointments to her leadership team today.
Dan Hereth has been appointed to serve as assistant deputy secretary. He will serve as the chief of staff for the Secretary, managing external affairs for the agency including media, legislative, and external stakeholders. Additionally, he will serve as the liaison with the governor’s staff and other agencies. Before holding this position, he served as the Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Gwen Moore. He has been with the Congresswoman since 2007.
Hereth is a Watertown, WI native and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a Minor in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a Master of Arts degree in Resources and Labor Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Al Rohmeyer will continue to serve as Chief Legal Counsel for the Department. Rohmeyer was originally appointed to this position in 2017. He previously served as an Attorney Supervisor from September 2016 until September 2017 and as the Administrator of the Division of Legal Services and Compliance (DLSC) from February 2015 to August 2016, after joining the agency as an Attorney in DLSC in October 2013. Rohmeyer has over 25 years of service in various positions with the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Rohmeyer resides in DeForest, WI. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and holds a Law Degree from Marquette University Law School.
Crim said she would announce additional appointments as they are made.
