Afterschool Meal Options for School Food Authorities (AR)
The Afterschool Meal Options for School Food Authorities comparison chart outlines after school feeding options and requirements for School Food Authorities (SFAs) and Non-SFAs interested in serving meals and snacks after the end of the school day as part of an afterschool enrichment activity. DPI encourages SFAs and Non-SFAs to work together in coordinating snack programs in eligible areas throughout your community. On-Demand CACFP Halftime: Thirty on Thursdays Webinar (ALL)
USDA’s Team Nutrition is excited to announce the release of an on-demand CACFP Halftime Thirty on Thursdays webinar and the related CACFP meal pattern training slides and worksheet titled “Serving Meats and Meat Alternates at Breakfast in the Child and Adult Care Food Program."
These resources highlight current CACFP meal pattern requirements and demonstrate how these standards align with the recently released Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025-2030 and the accompanying Real Food Pyramid. The resources discuss menu planning flexibilities, strategies for offering a variety of meats and meat alternates, and frequently asked questions related to serving meats and meat alternates at breakfast in the CACFP.

Farm to CACFP Week: October 18 - 24, 2026 (ALL)
Farm to CACFP Week is a national education campaign hosted annually during the third week of October by the National CACFP Association. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the benefits of connecting child and adult care sponsors and operators with local foods. Through local food procurement, gardening activities and agriculture education, Farm to CACFP leverages CACFP funding to help incorporate local foods into the nutritious CACFP meal pattern thus strengthening community food systems and supporting positive health outcomes for those in care.
