CACFP Training (ALL but FDCH)
The DPI Community Nutrition Programs will be offering in-person Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Training this summer! Registration is now open. Please share this information with the appropriate staff at your agency.
Dates and locations are in the table below. More specific location provided on the Training webpage and when registering.
Training is being offered in the morning (9 a.m. - 11 a.m.) and afternoon (1 p.m. - 3 p.m.).
- Three sessions will be held in the morning from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. followed by three different sessions from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. These same sessions will be repeated in the afternoon from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
- You may choose to attend only the morning or afternoon block, or may choose to attend both the morning and afternoon blocks and choose different sessions in each. If attending both morning and afternoon blocks, there will be a two hour break from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on your own.
There is no charge to attend. Beverages and food will not be provided.

SESSION 1 (Morning Block: 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. / Afternoon Block: 1:00 – 2:00 p.m)
Product Labels for Cereal, Yogurt, Whole Grain Rich, Tofu, Commercially Processed Foods
Learn about product labels and documentation required to be kept on file for whole grain-rich foods, cereal, yogurt, tofu, and commercially purchased processed food items.
Household Size Income Statements and Household Size Income Record
This session will go through reviewing and determining Household Size Income Statements and completing and maintaining the Household Size Income Record.
Identifying Whole Grain-Rich (WGR)
This session will go through the different methods to determine if a grain meets whole grain-rich criteria for CACFP. This session is not applicable to School Food Authorities operating the At-Risk Afterschool Program using the NSLP meal pattern.
SESSION 2 (Morning Block: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. / Afternoon Block: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m)
Infant Meal Pattern and Completing Infant Meal Records
Learn about the CACFP infant meal pattern, including required meal components and creditable foods, and how to complete the Infant Meal Record used to document daily infant meal counts and foods served.
Financial Management for CACFP
This session will cover maintaining organized and accurate financial records, how to track CACFP expenses, and how to submit the CACFP Financial Report.
Child Nutrition (CN) Labels and Product Formulation Statements (PFS)
Learn how Child Nutrition (CN) labels and Product Formulation Statements (PFS) are used to credit commercially prepared foods. Participants will learn to identify valid documentation, determine creditable amounts, and ensure compliance when serving these items.
