Orientation and Mobility Mentoring Program
Do you know of a new Teacher of the Visually Impaired or Orientation & Mobility Specialist? Check out the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired Mentoring Program. The Outreach Department at WCBVI is completing its 10th year of offering mentoring to Wisconsin vision professionals new to the field of visual impairments! We are excited to be able to pair a new Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) in Wisconsin with an experienced TVI or O&M in Wisconsin to provide resources and support! Topics for Upcoming Specific Learning Disabilities Community of Practice Meetings
Mark your calendars for the next two meetings of the Specific Learning Disabilities Community of Practice. On April 15th, Eva Kubinski and Rose Kilmurray (DPI Education Consultants) will facilitate a discussion about exclusionary factors and the SLD rule. On May 20th, Paula Volpiansky (DPI Education Consultant) will join the group for the final session of the academic year. The discussion will focus on selecting scientific-research or evidence-based interventions (SRBIs). These community of practice meetings are opportunities to connect with other educators and to share questions, resources, and examples from your own experience.

Resource Reminder: Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System and Dispute Resolution Options
DPI offers mediation to parents and local education agencies as a voluntary process for the resolution of special education disputes. The Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System (WSEMS) is funded through a DPI discretionary grant. WSEMS offers mediation and facilitated IEP meetings at no cost to either party.
