The day will begin with a keynote, followed by networking, discussion, and breakout sessions led by CESA consultants supporting UDL across the state. WMC Grant Opportunities
The Wisconsin Mathematics Council's Scholarship Committees are gearing up to look at applications for the next round of Scholarships and Fellowships. Please encourage those with a passion for teaching mathematics, including elementary pre-service teachers, to apply by March 1st for a $2,000 award.
Students and high school counselors can go to the WMC Scholarship Webpage for links, additional information, and fillable pdf application forms. Four opportunities are available. Students may only win one award, but they are welcome to apply for any that connect to their planned education training:

WCBVI Outreach - Abacus In-Person Training; 9am-4pm
American Printing House (APH) through the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) Outreach is offering a morning of learning about the abacus and how to incorporate it in one’s teaching toolkit as a way to support students who are blind, visually impaired, and deafblind. This event will be held at Mid-State Technical College in Steven’s Point. Complete the APH Professional Development Registration Form to sign up for this morning session. Registration will close on April 1st, 2026.

Just Equations - The Mathematics of Opportunity 2026: Meeting the Moment
This free, virtual conference will explore the transformative forces and voices behind the movement to redesign math education. Educators, advocates, and students will come together to discuss key issues and emerging trends in high school and postsecondary math education, and how K–12 and higher education systems are working together to prepare students for college, civic life, and the workforce of the future. May 14, 2026 - Kindergarten Through Second Grade (New for 2026!)
Brewers Math Day
New for 2026 is a K-2 extension to the Brewers Math Day. In advance of the game, teachers will receive a Brewers Math Day workbook - available for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 - to incorporate into their lesson plans leading up to the event. At the game, students will put their math skills to work by completing the workbook using elements of the game against the Padres.
