DLM New Test Administrator Facilitated Training

The Dynamic Learning Map (DLM) New Test Administrator online training will be held on September 30 from 3:00-6:00 PM. To register for this training, please fill out this Google Registration Form. You will be sent a Microsoft Teams meeting link prior to September 30th to join the training. Please make sure your device can access Microsoft Teams. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Peacy or Iris Jacobson. Please note you will need a laptop or desktop computer in order to access the training. (Chromebooks are not recommended)

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Learning Disabilities Summit

October 16, 2025. This one-day event, hosted by CEC and the Division for Learning Disabilities (DLD), will bring together leading researchers and practitioners to share evidence-based strategies in areas like: Defining learning disabilities, eligibility, and IEPs, Reading, writing, and math interventions, Specially Designed Instruction, and Writing measurable, standards-aligned IEP goals.

You'll be able to choose the sessions most relevant to your work, engage in two inspiring keynote sessions, and earn 5 CEU hours-all from the comfort of your home or office. Plus, recordings will be available after the event if you can't attend live, ensuring you don't miss out on any valuable information. Registration is affordable and flexible. Input on Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is asking for your help to engage families and participants in improving the Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program. DHS is starting the process to renew the CLTS Program waiver application. The waiver describes how the CLTS Program works, who is eligible, what services are available, and how families can direct their own services. Renewing the CLTS Program waiver is a chance for DHS to review and improve the program. The first step in the renewal is to gather feedback from participants, their families, and others who interact with CLTS.

In September, DHS is hosting three online input sessions for current and past CLTS Program participants and families to share their experience with the CLTS program and possible program changes. We hope to hear about experiences with different services, working with providers, ways to better serve certain groups with the program, and other program issues and solutions. Their feedback will help DHS improve how the program works to better serve children and families for the next waiver cycle, which runs from 2027 through 2031. DHS wants a broad and diverse group of attendees to share their input. These sessions are focused on general feedback about the CLTS Program. To protect participant privacy, we ask that attendees do not discuss personal circumstances that could reveal protected health information. The Q&A section will not be recorded to protect everyone’s privacy. For specific issues or questions about the CLTS program, families should reach out to the DHS Bureau of Children's Services (BCS) at DHSCLTSWaiverRenewal@dhs.wisconsin.gov.

Sign language interpreters and captioning will be provided during the input sessions, and the presentation slides will be available in English, Spanish, and Hmong. The survey is open until October 17. We hope you can help DHS promote this event and encourage your networks to attend. DHS wants to build the vision for the CLTS Program together with participants and their families.

Regional Special Education Network Summary Report

The 2024-25 Regional Special Education Network (RSN) Summary Report is now available. Link to 2024-25 RSN Summary Report. The report highlights the RSN’s work and reach to support Directors of Special Education Leadership and districts throughout the State of Wisconsion as well as collaboration with other programs funded by the Department of Public Instruction. Chapter 2 of the School Nurse Handbook Published

Chapter 2: School Nursing and Health Services Laws was recently posted on the School Nursing and Services Resources and Publications webpage. Multiple federal laws, state statutes, and local school board policies shape the nursing and health services programs that schools provide. Several more chapters are in the publication process.
