Statewide Media Release (ALL)
Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service uses federal poverty information to update income eligibility guidelines for meals served at schools and day care programs. As an agency administering USDA programs, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction publicizes these guidelines annually. Additional information is available on the department’s newsroom website. A list of agencies in Wisconsin that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program is available online.

Third Quarter CACFP Financial Report is due September 1, 202 (SO)
The third quarter CACFP Financial Report is due September 1, 2025. Instructions for submission of the report can be found under Guidance Memorandum #11. Contact Cari Ann Muggenburg at cari.muggenburg@dpi.wi.gov with any questions regarding this report.
Prospective Waivers for Non-Congregate Meal Service for CACFP (ALL)
CACFP operators to serve meals in a non-congregate setting when congregate meal service operations are limited due to natural disasters, unscheduled major building repairs, court orders relating to school safety or other issues, labor-management disputes, or, when approved by DPI for a similar unanticipated cause.

The Department of Public Instruction is currently undergoing a reorganization.

Head Start Supplemental Funding Opportunity (HS)
Head Start programs have the opportunity to access one-time supplemental funds to support nutrition services and healthy eating for enrolled children and families. This funding can be used for staff training on resources and educational opportunities, and can only be used to cover costs not already currently covered by USDA funding
