CACFP Communications (ALL)
In March of 2025, the DPI transitioned our subscription lists for CACFP communications to a new provider, GovDelivery. As a result, anyone not listed as the authorized representative in the CACFP contract, such as secondary contacts or other staff that operate the CACFP, must subscribe themselves to this new list to receive CACFP communications, including the CACFP Bulletin and Newsletter.
Click here to subscribe to CACFP communications! After clicking the link, you will be prompted to enter your email address and complete a CAPTCHA. A subscription confirmation message will follow. Bulletins and Newsletters are also posted on the webpage the second Thursday of each month.
USDA Policy Memos (ALL)
The purpose of this memorandum is to remind schools, sponsors, and institutions participating in any U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Program (CNP), including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP), Special Milk Program for Children (SMP), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and the Seamless Summer Option (SSO), of the many ways they can purchase local foods to serve in program meals. Sourcing and serving locally grown foods, and other farm to school activities, such as taste testing, gardening, and agriculture education, can infuse new energy and vision into CNP operations, support community health, create new opportunities for American farmers, invest federal dollars in local economies, and strengthen strategies to encourage healthy choices.
Prohibition on the Use of Chicken and Seafood from China
The 2025 Appropriations Act extends the 2024 provision that Program funds may not be used to procure raw or processed poultry or seafood products from the People’s Republic of China. This prohibition applies to all child nutrition programs and remains effective through September 30, 2025.
