 Enjoying Chiwaukee in 2019.
Chiwaukee Prairie - Saturday, June 19, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come care for Chiwaukee Prairie State Natural Area (SNA). Help Chiwaukee Prairie Preservation Fund volunteers during our monthly workdays on the third Saturday, and enjoy the beauty of this rich prairie in the process. We will be removing invasive plants that can dominate the prairie and displace native plants. No skills are needed as you will be trained onsite. Find more details here.
Lulu Lake - Saturday, June 19, 9 a.m. to noon. Help the Prairie Enthusiasts tackle invasives and aggressive natives on this stunning site. With a mixture of wetlands and oak openings, Lulu is home to a diverse array of plants and animals. Aspen can shade out the native plants present, especially on hill prairies and in wetlands. We will be focusing on girdling it to improve native plant growth. Find more details by scrolling down to our workday table here.
