Updates for local agencies, community-based organizations, and providers who provide assistance to members of Wisconsin's health and nutrition public assistance programs.
December 11 ACCESS Website and MyACCESS Mobile App Updates
Since it was launched over 15 years ago, the ACCESS website has served as a primary resource for people to apply for and manage their enrollment in Wisconsin’s health, nutrition, child care, and employment programs. In an effort to improve and simplify benefits management, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families are continuing to modernize the ACCESS website to make it more accessible and easy to use. On December 11, the apply for benefits tool, account home page, and document submission process will be updated in ACCESS.
Note: Any applications or documents that have not been submitted before the update on December 10, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. will be lost.
The MyACCESS mobile app serves as a resource for members to manage their benefits using their smart phones. On December 11, MyACCESS will be updated to include digital ForwardHealth and SeniorCare cards.
For more details on each update, see below.
Account home page update
After submitting an application, members and applicants can log into ACCESS and view their application status and to-do list on their account home page. In addition, users can download a PDF summary of their submitted application, view agency contact information, and view household and program details. The image below shows how the updated account home page will look starting December 11.
Apply for benefits update
The updated apply for benefits tool in ACCESS is more streamlined and has a new look. Using ACCESS, people can apply for multiple programs, such as BadgerCare Plus and FoodShare, with a single application. In addition, applicants can now complete an online application for the Emergency Assistance program. To use the online application, go the ACCESS homepage and click on “Apply now”. As seen in the image below, applicants can now complete sections of the application in any order they want. To get started, new users will need to create an ACCESS account.
Document submission update
Applicants may need to submit documents to prove that they meet program requirements, and they can do so using the updated document submission process in ACCESS. Applicants will eventually get a letter that lists the documents needed but submitting suggested documents right away may shorten the time it takes for their application to be processed. In addition to submitting documents, applicants can print a list of example proof documents, view previously submitted documents, and view instructions for other document submission options.
MyACCESS digital benefit cards update
Beginning December 11, members will be able to view their digital ForwardHealth and SeniorCare cards on the MyACCESS mobile app. Members can also save PDFs and print out paper copies of their cards from the app. Members can show their digital, physical, or paper print out version of their ForwardHealth or SeniorCare cards to get covered benefits.
ACCESS website and MyACCESS mobile app support
If someone experiences issues using the updated ACCESS website or MyACCESS mobile app, we would like to know about it. Issues can be reported to ForwardHealth Member Services at 800-362-3002. Users should be prepared to share what browser and device they are using.
