February 28 Update to the ACCESS Website

Since it was launched over 15 years ago, the ACCESS website has served as a primary resource for people to apply for and manage their enrollment in Wisconsin’s health, nutrition, child care, and/or employment programs. In an effort to enhance and simplify benefits management, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families will be modernizing the ACCESS website over the next year to make it more accessible and easy to use.

As a first step in this modernization effort, the tool people can use to see which programs they may be eligible for, prior to applying, will be updated on February 28, 2021. The updated tool will be more streamlined and have a new look and feel.

To use the tool, people can choose the See if you can get help option on the ACCESS homepage. Then, in just seven easy steps, they can answer questions about their household, income, assets, and expenses to receive program recommendations, including basic program information and application instructions, specific to their situation.

We encourage you to make applicants aware of this updated resource, and, if you help people with applying, to incorporate use of this tool into your own processes.

We hope this update offers many improvements. Still, we know that, with anything new, there may be issues. If someone experiences issues using the updated tool, we would like to know about it. Issues can be reported to ForwardHealth Member Services at 800-362-3002. People should be prepared to share what browser and device they are using as well as the device’s operating system.
