Employers Offering Life and Accident | Life and Accident Insurance
The ETF administration of the Wisconsin Public Employers Group Life Insurance program has officially transitioned to the My Insurance Benefits portal (previously administered by Securian).
Please review changes, as well as upcoming invoice details and deadlines to ensure a smooth transition.
What is Changing?
-
Enrollment in My Insurance Benefits: Employees should now submit elections and coverage changes directly in My Insurance Benefits themselves. If employers enter any elections or changes on behalf of a member in My Insurance Benefits, they must have a signed application from the member first.
-
HR Administrator Tasks: Employers must review and approve system-generated tasks triggered by employee changes (e.g., adding dependents, qualifying life events, etc.).
-
Dependent Documentation: New enrollments require spouse/dependent details and uploaded verification documents, which may require employer approval. The life insurance paper application has been updated to collect and enter dependent information.
-
Billing Cycle: Life insurance premiums transition to a current-month billing cycle starting August 2026. Invoices will not be mailed to employers. Employers must log in to Securian’s Life Benefits Extra (LBE) online portal to access their life and accident invoices starting in August 2026.
-
Mandatory Accident Plan Reenrollment: Members who currently have a Securian Accident Plan that covers any dependents (spouse and/or children), must reenroll their dependents in the Accident Plan during open enrollment to have coverage that continues past December 31, 2026. If they do not, their dependents will no longer have Accident Plan coverage, and their plan will change to individual coverage for the member as the subscriber on January 1, 2027. (Note: DOES NOT apply to Universities of Wisconsin).
Securian’s Life Benefits Extra (LBE) Portal Access & Invoicing
Starting in August, employers must retrieve monthly invoices via Securian’s Life Benefits Extra (LBE) portal.
-
Credential Delivery: Login credentials will be sent on July 29, 2026 to HR administrators based on existing ETF Online Access Security Agreement forms (ET-8928) with access to the following permissions:
- Securian Access Life Insurance Billing
- Securian Access Accident Plan Billing
- Benefits All Access
- Benefits Billing
- Payment Application
- A small number of employers may require additional time for validation by Securian and will receive access information after July 29 from Securian.
-
Access Changes: The deadline to submit an updated ETF Online Access Security Agreement (ET-8928) to add, remove, or change your access was July 24, 2026. Future adjustments can be made at any time and will be processed as they are received.
Note: Please be aware ETF has combined the online access forms for IAS and other ETF systems into one form, the ETF Online Access Security Agreement (ET-8928). This form is for all employers requesting access to ETF systems, including those for the WRS and ETF-administered insurances.

All Employers | Health Insurance
If you offer health insurance, payments are now due through ETF’s new Payment Application each month on the 24th (next business day if the 24th falls on a weekend or holiday). As a reminder, employers should first access your invoice through the Billing Manager in My Insurance Benefits. Look for the waffle icon on the top right. Then, employers must use the Employer Portal to access the Employer Payment Application which ultimately uses U.S. Bank’s ePay.
Please allow at least three billing cycles for all conversion-related invoice changes. This is dependent on the timing of your data validation, vendor discrepancy process corrections, and the volume of retro adjustments prior to July 1, 2026 for your members. Q: Can scheduled reports be programmed to be emailed to a recipient?
A: When scheduling a standard report, you have the option to “Share” the report with others in My Insurance Benefits who have similar access to data. It does not automatically email the reports. If you choose to download the report, you can share it manually. Rules protecting PHI and PII still apply with reporting.
