All Employers | All Insurance Benefits
The Insurance Administration System (IAS) Program Team recently determined that My Insurance Benefits (Benefitplace) will go live with the Universities of Wisconsin (UW) in a focused implementation in July 2025.
The launch date of My Insurance Benefits for all other employers that offer ETF-administered insurance benefits will be March 1, 2026. As a reminder, all ETF-administered insurance programs (e.g., life, income continuation, health, supplemental dental, vision, and accident) except for long-term care will be part of the new My Insurance Benefits system.
This decision was based on the IAS Program’s tracking of critical issues that were not guaranteed to be fixed in time for a July 1 go-live date for all employers. The most significant issues were related to billing, reporting, COBRA, and Medicare.
Please note the following updates due to this decision:
-
Employee data already saved in the Employer Transaction Application (ETA) is secure – no data will be lost. Please continue to track updates to employee demographic and eligibility information, new employee enrollments, and employee terminations for future input into the ETA.
-
ETF will continue to work with employers in the interim, as needed, to complete various preparatory tasks, such as new/updated IAS security agreements, multi-factor authentication (MFA) setup, resolving employee data corrections, etc.
-
My Insurance Benefits training for local and non-STAR employers will be postponed to a time closer to the launch.
-
Previously communicated Electronic Enrollment Insurance Freeze dates no longer apply.
The focused implementation of My Insurance Benefits with the UW will allow ETF to:
- Continue to resolve issues in My Insurance Benefits,
- Learn from the UW’s experience in the system and make improvements for the launch to all employers and members, and
-
Look for opportunities to optimize the customer experience within the system.
After careful consideration, ETF chose the March 2026 date to allow time to address critical issues and minimize the impact on annual open enrollment, annual reconciliation, and other employer processes.
IAS Program teams are meeting this week to review the impacts of this decision and determine next steps. We will share more information with you as it becomes available.
Please continue to read My Benefits for Employers for ongoing updates about My Insurance Benefits functionality and project activities.
ETF will continue to provide more detail on the above, communicate additional changes, and ensure you are prepared for the transition.
