Wisconsin dairy took center stage at Fine Food Australia 2025, held September 8-11 in Sydney, Australia. The Wisconsin Cheese Pavilion - a joint effort between DATCP and Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) - featured Agropur, AMPI, Masters Gallery, Sartori, and Schreiber Foods, giving buyers from across the region a direct taste of Wisconsin’s world-class dairy. Several other Wisconsin cheese companies also contributed product samples, even though they could not attend in person, further showcasing the depth and variety of the state’s industry while gauging market opportunities.
According to U. S. Dairy Export Council, U.S. cheese shipments to Oceania rose about 21% in early 2025 compared to the previous year, highlighting the region’s strong growth potential. Fine Food Australia was the ideal venue to capture this momentum, serving as both Australia’s leading food industry showcase and a gateway to fast-growing Asian markets.
The Wisconsin Cheese Pavilion also gained visibility through a local TV interview and news report, raising awareness among Australian consumers. In addition, USDA Foreign Agriculture Service Australia and DFW cohosted a Wisconsin cheese reception, creating valuable networking opportunities and strengthening trade relationships. Together, these efforts ensured that Wisconsin cheese not only stood out at Fine Food Australia but also cemented its reputation as a leader in global dairy excellence.
From September 10 to 12, 2025, DATCP participated in the Americas Food and Beverage Show in Miami, Florida, hosted by the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture. Wisconsin’s diverse cheese industry shined featuring AMPI, Pine River Pre-Pack Inc., and Hoard’s Dairyman Farm Creamery in the DATCP booth. These companies were able to promote their products to the Latin American and Caribbean markets and netted 60+ export leads. Wisconsin companies also participated in one-on-one buyer meetings, creating strong leads for ready-to-order buyers. There were over 10,000 attendees, 900 exhibitors, and buyers from more than 120 countries at the 2025 event.
From September 16 to 18, 2025, staff from DATCP's International Agribusiness Center were joined by representatives from Bio-Vet and Global Ingredients Corporation to exhibit at the VICTAM LatAm feed show located in São Paulo, Brazil. The show included over 200 exhibitors and over 5,000 participants.
Wisconsin feed ingredients were a strong feature as Wisconsin's dairy industry is well respected within Brazil. In addition to exhibiting at the feed show, visiting company representatives met with buyers and distributors from across Brazil and South America to build relationships, with a focus on growing Wisconsin's agricultural exports.
From September 29 to October 3, 2025, DATCP, along with Indiana State Department of Agriculture and Food Export Midwest & Northeast, coordinated an International Livestock Feed Buyer Mission to Madison, Wisconsin. This event was planned in conjunction with World Dairy Expo.
Representatives from Mexico, Peru, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Costa Rica, and Indonesia met with livestock feed exporters from throughout the Midwest and Northeast. The guests also toured the area where they visited Glacier Edge Dairy in Milton and The DeLong Co., Inc. headquarters and grain facility in Clinton.
The buyer mission was a great opportunity for Wisconsin to showcase our world class feed products and resources to prospective buyers, and for our suppliers to expand to new global markets.
On October 2, 2025, DATCP, National Association of Animal Breeders, and Livestock Exporters Association collaborated on “Beyond the Barn: How U.S. Dairy Genetics Leads the World,” the first-ever U.S.-genetics-focused event to World Dairy Expo.
This event featured speakers and panelists from multiple sectors to create a global forum on genetics, health, and trade. Over the course of four topics, over 100 guests learned more about conducting business with Americans, U.S. animal health systems, how the U.S. data system works, as well as about the beef and pork genetic selection industry.
From October 4 to 8, 2025, DATCP's International Agribusiness Center hosted a Wisconsin Pavilion at the Anuga food show in Cologne, Germany. Anuga is the world's leading food and beverages trade fair and draws in a diverse group of buyers from around the world.
The heavily attended five-day show was a terrific opportunity for the five DATCP supported Wisconsin companies to exhibit to a large international audience. Masters Gallery Foods, Chippewa Valley Bean, Mariani Family, Old Fashioned Cheese, and Croix Valley Foods met with various buyers and importers, introducing their products to the global market and laying the groundwork for future sales. There were other Wisconsin companies exhibiting at Anuga, including the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, Nasonville, Sartori, Carr Valley, Widmer’s, and Pine River, though their participation was not in conjunction with DATCP.
*The Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports (WIAE), a collaborative project between DATCP and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), aims to boost the export of dairy, meat, and crop products by promoting Wisconsin agricultural products in the international marketplace. The WIAE was proposed in Gov. Tony Evers 2021-23 biennial state budget.
For more information on the WIAE, sign up for email updates and visit the DATCP website.
