These grants aim to accelerate the growth of Wisconsin dairy, meat, and crop product exports. Applicants must be not-for-profit organizations located in Wisconsin that are currently serving or can serve Wisconsin agribusinesses.

ExporTech™ is designed for emerging and experienced exporters to develop their strategic export plan. Over three days, non-competing companies determine their top three export markets and develop an actionable strategic plan. Companies with products including processed foods, grains, mink pelts, livestock, genetics, and more are encouraged to participate.
ExporTech™ graduates realize between $600,000 and $1,000,000 in average incremental exports growth one year after completing the program.

Join DATCP at Asia’s leading international food and beverage event where 1,500 exhibitors from 50 countries meet with over 65,000 attendees.

Foodservice Buyers Mission at NRA
Food Export-Midwest will be hosting the Foodservice Buyers Mission in partnership with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) at the 2025 NRA Show. As the largest foodservice event in the Western Hemisphere, the NRA Show is an invaluable resource for foodservice and hospitality professionals.
This mission is an ideal venue for suppliers in the foodservice industry as well as the beer, wine, and spirits industries. Participants will meet with pre-qualified buyers from around the world in pre-arranged, one-on-one meetings right here in the U.S. to generate new sales leads and build relationships with key industry players. July 13-15, 2025 – Xiamen, China
Wisconsin businesses in dairy genetics, feed supplements, dairy products, animal health, processing, and more are encouraged to exhibit at China Dairy Expo 2025. This is the largest and most influential dairy production event in China, covering the entire dairy production chain. Participants have the opportunity to connect with key players in China’s growing dairy industry, organized by the China Dairy Association.
Participants will share booth space and receive a listing in the bilingual Wisconsin Directory, access to Wisconsin and U.S. forums, turnkey booth assistance, translation services, and business matchmaking.

August 5-8, 2025 – Castro, Brazil
Taking place in Castro, a national capital of milk production, Agroleite is aimed at all phases of the milk supply chain and is the place to showcase milk technology in Latin America.
DATCP staff will lead a trade mission to Agroleite including visits to farms in the region. Dairy producers and genetics companies are invited to participate to develop relationships with potential buyers and increase demand for Wisconsin dairy genetics.

DATCP is coordinating two back-to-back missions through Food Export-Midwest for retail and food service companies that offer a minimum of 51% U.S. food. August 11-13, 2025 – Shanghai & Hangzhou, China: China remains the fourth largest market for the export of U.S. processed foods. The U.S. is also the fourth largest supplier of consumer-oriented food products to China, behind Brazil, Thailand, and New Zealand.

August 14-15, 2025 – Hong Kong: Hong Kong has a free-market economy that is highly dependent on international trade and finance — the value of goods and services trade, including the sizable share of re-export, is about four times GDP. Hong Kong has no tariffs on imported goods, and it levies excise duties on only four commodities, whether imported or produced locally: hard alcohol, tobacco, oil, and methyl alcohol. There are no quotas or dumping laws. Hong Kong continues to link its currency closely to the U.S. dollar, maintaining an arrangement established in 1983.

India is a compelling market for U.S. food products, driven by its rapidly expanding middle class, urbanization, and evolving consumer preferences towards healthier and premium food options. Per USDA, the best products for the market include pulses, fresh and processed fruits (e.g., cranberries), distilled spirits/alcohol, wine, confectionery, and tree nuts. Personal relationships play a crucial role in Indian business culture, and establishing trust through face-to-face meetings is possible with SIAL India 2025.

 On January 6, DATCP hosted a meeting with Robert Hanson, Minister Counselor for Agricultural Affairs at the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China, along with leaders from key industry associations, including the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin, U.S. Livestock & Genetics Export, Inc. and the National Association of Animal Breeders, Inc. Minister Counselor Hanson provided valuable insights into current trade developments, regulatory challenges, and emerging opportunities in China.

 In November 2024, the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL) completed a bovine genetics market development mission to Tanzania and Kenya supported by a Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports (WIAE) Export Expansion Grant.  Thanks to Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports (WIAE) funding, IABC helped sponsor buyers from Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, to attend the 2024 World Dairy Expo in Madison. This effort has now resulted in a new shipment of 12 containers of soybean meal to Uzbekistan, further strengthening the trade relationship and creating new opportunities for Wisconsin farmers.  The 77th Alice in Dairyland, Halei Heinzel, joined members of the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin (GBW) and DATCP staff on a market visit to Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam from January 14-19, just ahead of the Lunar New Year, a key buying season for ginseng. The trip provided an opportunity to reconnect with importers post-pandemic, gain firsthand market insights, and promote Wisconsin ginseng to key buyers.  During the week of January 20-24, 2025, staff from DATCP attended International Dairy Week (IDW) in Tatura Park, Victoria, Australia, along with representatives from Wisconsin-affiliated companies US Livestock Genetics Export (USLGE), ABS Global, World Wide Sires, URUS, and STgenetics.  February 3-6, 2025, DATCP staff participated in the USDA Agricultural Trade Mission to Bangkok, Thailand, with the goal of boosting U.S. and Wisconsin agricultural exports and building long-term relationships. Read more on the DATCP trade mission recap web page.
 From February 17 to 21, 2024, representatives from Chippewa Valley Bean, Columbia Grain, Ginseng Board of Wisconsin, Masters Gallery, and Rowan & Friends joined DATCP staff to exhibit within the Wisconsin Pavilion at the Gulfood tradeshow in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  DATCP staff joined the USDA Agriculture Trade Mission to Guatemala City, Guatemala, March 3-6, 2025, and met with Adjunct Deputy Secretary of Agriculture of Guatemala, Ing.
