Update No. 3: Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Jefferson County

Depopulation efforts continue this week at the Jefferson County poultry farm infected by highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is coordinating with state and federal partners in this response.

Additionally, DATCP has updated its HPAI incident webpage to include new resources on depopulation, composting and biosecurity. We remind everyone working with or around poultry to take proper precautions to protect their flocks.
