Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Wisconsin

HPAI Banner

Limited depopulation has begun at the Jefferson County poultry farm infected by highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI). During this process, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) continues to consider various options to stop the spread of the disease in accordance with guidance from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

DATCP encourages everyone in Wisconsin working with or around poultry to practice enhanced biosecurity measures to protect their flocks. More biosecurity information can be found here: https://datcp.wi.gov/Documents/AIPoultryBiosecurityGuidelines.pdf.
