Vaccines

Routine childhood vaccines

  • Routine vaccinations are a great tool to keep kids healthy, in school, and ready to learn.
  • Encourage families to make sure they are up to date on vaccines.
  • Parents and guardians can register and view their child’s vaccine records, and see what vaccines they are due for, on MyIR Mobile.

Where to find vaccines

Protect yourself and others

  • Vaccines can help prevent illness and disease. Diseases like measles and whooping cough have been circulating in Washington recently.
  • Vaccines are safe and effective. It is safe to get multiple vaccines at the same time.
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes.
  • Wash your hands.
  • Limit time around sick people.
  • If you are sick, stay home.

Help students be nicotine free

Connecting youth to help and providing resources is one of the best ways to help young people start quitting vapes and nicotine. Quit kits:

  • Are a targeted intervention for students who are actively attempting to quit nicotine.
  • Include items that can help with cessation by:
    • Replacing oral vaping behaviors.
    • Helping students cope with cravings.
    • Providing education on what to expect and resources for help.
    • Offering healthy distractions and ways to soothe stress and anxiety.
  • Visit tpchd.org/escapethevape to find other quit resources like The Best You, How to Help Your Teen Quit Vaping, and more.
