Under the Environmental Health Code, we regulate and enforce procedures for programs like onsite septic, drinking water, and underground storage tanks.
We propose changes or additions to the Environmental Health Code about once a year.
This year, we will ask Tacoma-Pierce County Board of Health to adopt state health and safety regulations for other programs:
We will not create new requirements or make changes to existing state regulations.
Adopting these regulations into the Environmental Health Code will allow us to:
- Improve regulatory transparency for you, our customers.
- Streamline administrative processes like enforcement, appeal, and variance procedures, described Environmental Health Code, Chapter 1.
- Provide a consistent administrative approach across all programs.
