Back-to-school resources
Air quality
Follow DOH’s recommendations to protect children and youth from air pollution. See Washington Children and Youth Activities Guide for Air Quality.
School plan reviews and inspections
Is your school or district busy with new construction, remodels, moving portables or adding playgrounds? If you are in plan review, you need to schedule your pre-opening inspection so you can open your new space on time. Contact Community Safety at communitysafety@tpchd.org or (253) 649-1713 to reserve your inspection time.
Pediatric vaccines
- Vaccines are an important part of keeping kids healthy and ready to learn. They are also a requirement for school. Share free vaccine opportunities with families. Visit tpchd.org/kidsvax to find vaccine events in August and September!
- Encourage families to use MyIR to easily access their child’s immunization record.
- COVID-19 vaccines continue to be widely available at pharmacies and clinics.
- This fall, an updated COVID-19 vaccine is coming. Stay tuned for more information on who should get it and when.
- Have questions about vaccines? Contact Kate Cranfield at kcranfield@tpchd.org.
