Do not eat, sell or serve recalled Jif peanut butter.

A Salmonella outbreak is linked to some Jif peanut butter products.

Check if you have a recalled Jif peanut butter.

  1. Locate the lot code near the Best If Used By date.
  2. The product is recalled if the:
    • First 4 digits are between 1274 and 2140.
      AND
    • Next 3 numbers are 425.

Check if you have other recalled products with Jif peanut butter.

  • Throw away all recalled products.
  • Wash and sanitize surfaces and utensils the peanut butter may have touched.

Salmonella can cause serious illness.

Symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, nausea and vomiting. Some people are at high risk for severe illness:

  • Under 5.
  • 65 or older.
  • Have weakened immune systems.
