Onsite Industry and Well Driller Update.

We are still working under the Governor’s Phase 2 guidance for construction sites.

  • Our building remains closed to the public, but we are working remotely to help you.
  • Most services are available online. We encourage online applications, virtual meetings and virtual consultations.

Environmental Health programs realign to serve you.

Our Drinking Water program merged with the Onsite Sewage program Oct. 1. The permitting process is now housed in one program, managed by Leigh McIntire. This will help ensure healthy systems at their start.

Chrissy Cooley will manage the Report of System Status (RSS) program, Code Enforcement, Septic System Operation and Maintenance and Surface Water programs.  These programs carry out the compliance assurance that ensures long-term health.

The realignment will clarify and streamline processes, improve staff collaboration and simplify communication for our customers. It will also reduce overlap and allocate resources where we have a backlog of work.

Improvements to Pierce County’s PALS+ Online Permit system.

PALS+ now has 2 fields to show the status of “Health Department” application reviews:

  • Health Dept. Septic” shows comments for the onsite sewage portion of the review.
  • Health Dept. Water” shows comments for the water or well portion of the review.

Both “Health Department” fields will show “approved” when the overall Health application is approved. Please contact Leigh McIntire if you have questions.

Amnesty for Expired Record Drawing Submittals.

The amnesty program for expired record drawings ended Sept. 30, 2020. All expired record drawing submittals now require a renewal fee.
