Health Department Review Times

We are still working under the Governor’s Phase 2 guidance for construction sites.

  • Our building remains closed to the public, but we are working remotely to help you.
  • Staff will wear masks on site visits. Please help by observing 6-foot physical distancing.
  • We will reopen safely when we can. We encourage online applications, virtual meetings and virtual consultations. Most services are available online.

Network upgrades–Independence Day weekend.

We will upgrade our network July 3-5. We hope this notice will help you plan. You won’t be able to access these services:

  • Application submittal portal.
  • Application status look-up.
  • Document search for record drawings.

Application review times.

We are working to add the number of open applications and the week we are working on to our website. We will continue to update this information every two weeks.

Our current review times are:

  • Septic system and well applications–55 business days, down from 60.
  • Report of System Status—12 business days.

We continue to shift resources to help balance reviews across the county. We apologize for the delays in processing and ask for your patience as we work through our backlog of applications and resubmittals.

Help the process go more smoothly.

  • Submit a complete application packet the first time.
  • Apply online–98% of you submitted applications online this month. We’ll soon require you to submit all applications electronically. If you need help, use our online submittal guidance or contact Brad Costello at bcostello@tpchd.org.
  • Check your application status at www.tpchd.org/applicationstatus. Our admin processing time may take up to 3 business days.
  • Resubmit one time, one place if you need to add anything to your original application or design.
  • Help us stay focused on your applications.
  • Limit calls and emails to staff.
  • We are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9:30 a.m. to respond to calls and emails or schedule an appointment to discuss a review we performed.
  • Prepare the site location so we can access it when we arrive. This will help you avoid reinspection and associated fees.

Payments

  • When you apply online, we automatically generate an invoice. You receive an email confirmation with an account and invoice number. Anyone can use these numbers to pay online.
  • If you or your customer need to pay with a check, mail a check in with a copy of the invoice.
