Pierce County is now in Phase 2.
-
Our building is still closed to the public, but we are working remotely to help you.
-
Staff will wear masks on site visits. Please help by observing 6-foot physical distancing.
Application review times.
Our current review time for applications in the county is up to 60 days. We are shifting resources to help balance field visits throughout the county. We’ll update you every two weeks.
We are now processing, reviewing and inspecting all On-Site Sewage, Well Permitting and Drinking Water applications. We are prioritizing these applications for review:
-
Septic system repair.
-
Record drawings.
-
Report of System Status.
-
Plats.
-
Active building permits.
You are experiencing slower response times as many of our staff are still activated for the COVID-19 response. We are working through a large backlog of applications that were on hold before the Governor announced the restart of low risk construction on April 24.
You can help it go more smoothly.
-
Submit a complete application packet the first time.
-
Apply online – 98% of our applications were submitted online in May. We will soon require you to submit all applications electronically. If you need help, use our online submittal guidance or contact Brad Costello at bcostello@tpchd.org.
-
Check your application status at www.tpchd.org/applicationstatus. Our admin processing time may take up to 3 business days.
-
Resubmit one time, one place if you need to add anything to your original application or design.
-
Help us stay focused on your applications.
-
Limit calls and emails to staff.
-
We are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8- 9:30 a.m. to respond to calls and emails or schedule an appointment to discuss a review we performed.
-
Prepare the site location so we can access it when we arrive. This will help you avoid reinspections and associated fees.
Payments
-
When you submit online, we automatically generate an invoice. You receive an email confirmation with an account and invoice number. Anyone can use these numbers to pay online.
-
If you or your customer need to pay with a check, mail a check in with a copy of the invoice.
