Thea Foss Waterway sewage spill
advisory lifted.

Water quality at Thea Foss Waterway returns to safe levels.

On May 20, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department lifted the sewage spill advisory for the Thea Foss Waterway. Results from a May 18 water sample indicate public health concerns no longer exist.

We issued the advisory May 13 because a sewage spill caused high levels of bacteria in the water. Learn more about our surface water quality efforts and current advisories at tpchd.org/advisories.
