Council Member Kristina Walker -- Get Ready for Bike Month!
City of Tacoma Washington sent this bulletin at 04/20/2026 10:00 AM PDT
Hello, Tacoma!
May is one of my favorite months in Tacoma because we have 31 days dedicated to celebrating biking! Bike Month is full of great events and activities, and I hope you’ll join us in the fun this year. Rain or shine, I'll see you out there on a bike!
The events get started on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the 15th Annual Pierce County Bike Swap. This is a FREE family-friendly community event put on by Ride Together Pierce, where anyone can sell or buy used bicycles and bicycle parts. The event will have activities for all ages and takes place at Tacoma Community College, Parking Lot A. I encourage you to bring a helmet if you plan on test-riding bikes.
Are you planning a bicycling event in Tacoma that you’d like to see added to the Bike Month calendar? To have your event considered for 2026 Bike Month event calendar, please add your event details to this form.
I hope to see you out there on your bikes and that you have a chance to enjoy the wonderful Bike Month events happening across our city. You can also find maps of all our existing, construction-funded, or planned bikeways here: Mobility Options | City of Tacoma.
If you have time, please also add your voice to this short Sound Transit survey and let them know that you are eager to see Sound Transit make the Tacoma Dome Link Extension a reality!
You can find more City updates and resources on our newly updated website at https://tacoma.gov.
I also invite you to tune in to the City Council’s Study Session or City Council meetings every week on Tuesdays via TV Tacoma or Zoom. Access information is available here: https://tacoma.gov/councilmeetings.
I hope you will reach out to me with any questions. I can be reached at: kwalker@tacoma.gov.
