As you may have heard, last week at the Sound Transit board meeting, we voted to move forward our Enterprise Initiative, Sound Transit’s effort to ensure Sound Transit can deliver the greatest benefits of ST3 within available financial capacity.
As the representative for Tacoma, I want to be clear that my priority is to see the completion of the Tacoma Dome Link Extension and to work with my Sound Transit Board colleagues to deliver on the promise of regional transit expansion. The Sound Transit Board knows voters across this region want and need more transit options and is dedicated to making that happen.
While Sound Transit faces significant financial challenges, the Sound Transit Board is actively working together to find a path forward. Our collaborative Enterprise Initiative is a proactive effort to build a more resilient system for the future. This initiative will ensure our decisions are smart, transparent, and data-driven, allowing us to navigate uncertain economic times.
Ultimately, this project is about more than just building infrastructure; it's about connecting our communities for generations to come. It’s about ensuring our residents can reliably get to work, school, and essential services. I am committed to delivering transit to this region and will continue to work transparently and creatively to make this vision a reality.
