Hello District 3!
I am excited to share some updates on our work for the South Tacoma Neighborhood Plan. We started working on this plan with community about a year ago and it has been great to see so many people come together to dream about the future of South Tacoma. I invite you all to take a look at our list of draft actions. I am also very pleased to share that voting for the community booster project has been extended until January 31--so there is still time to cast your vote!
Community booster voting extended until January 31!
Community booster voting for how $50,000 will be spent to support implementation of priority projects for the South Tacoma Neighborhood Plan is open now!
The five options, which are all top community priorities selected by the South Tacoma Steering Group, include:
- Enhancing business district amenities (signage, trees, street furnishings)
- Organizing signature community events
- Offering programs and spaces for youth and seniors
- Adding interpretive signage and art
- Investing in tree planting
Vote online today! By participating in booster voting, you’re helping to direct funding towards the projects that matter most to you and your neighbors. In addition to this booster funding, we are actively working to find other funding to support the community actions and priorities that are laid out in the plan.
As a next step, our Planning and Development Services team be taking a first draft of the Neighborhood Plan to the Planning Commission for their review on Wednesday, February 19.
