Deputy Mayor John Hines - Join me at the Historic Cushman Street Fair
City of Tacoma Washington sent this bulletin at 09/05/2024 12:44 PM PDT
Hello Tacoma!
I hope you will all have a chance to join me at the Historic Cushman Street Fair on Saturday, September 7, from 11 AM to 3 PM. The event will take place at North 19th Street and North Adams Street. The Historic Cushman Street Fair is a great chance to spend some time with your community and enjoy food, music, activities, booths, and much more. There will also be free ice cream for kids from Bliss Small Batch Creamery!
This year, the event will include opportunities for everyone to learn more about the Cushman and Adams Substations Future Use Study and get involved in the process. Over the past few months, we have been collecting thoughts and visions from many residents about the next phase for these community assets. We will have City staff and the consultant team from Otak at the event to share information about what we’ve heard so far from the community. There will also be opportunities to share your thoughts at the event and you can still access the Future Use Study VISIONING Survey. Opportunities to reimagine a part of our city’s fabric like this do not come along very often and we want to ensure that everyone in Tacoma can be part of shaping the vision for the future of Cushman and Adams.
Please be sure to check out cityoftacoma.org for City updates and resources and, as always, please feel free to share your thoughts and concerns with me directly at john.hines@cityoftacoma.org. You can also call me at (253) 312-5620 if you have questions.
I invite you to tune in to the City Council’s Study Session or Council meetings every week on Tuesdays via TV Tacoma, Facebook Live, or Zoom. Access information is available at cityoftacoma.org/councilmeetings.
Also, if you enjoy getting this newsletter and regular updates from me, please feel free to share it with others who you think might find it valuable and encourage them to subscribe.
