Hello Tacoma Family!
I am excited to share an invitation to a wonderful event with you! Earlier this month, fifteen kids, ages 7 to 14, from families living in shelter at the Tacoma Rescue Mission, were surprised with the gift of a camera and a special tutorial from award-winning photographer Linda Solomon. A group of community mentors worked with the children to help them express their hopes and dreams for the future, and then they all took to the streets of downtown Tacoma to capture photos representing those hopes and dreams!

Helping Young People Thrive
I hope you will join us as we celebrate these young children and show them that their dreams matter! The Tacoma Rescue Mission plays such an important role in our community, and this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their work and give back.
Along with the unveiling of the children's photographs, there will be a silent auction fundraiser and greeting cards, featuring the gallery photos, available. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go toward the Tacoma Rescue Mission’s Youth Program. Cards are also available at www.trm.org/picturesofhope.

I was thrilled to participate as a mentor for this wonderful program, along with Mayor Victoria Woodards, Deputy Mayor Kristina Walker, Council Member John Hines, Council Member Sarah Rumbaugh, and several other community leaders.
The Tacoma Rescue Mission Youth Program supports youth experiencing homelessness with their academic, emotional, and social development needs. Their life-saving work is vital for our community.
