Dear Neighbors,
Hopefully you had a great National Night Out like we did this past Tuesday!
While many of you just received my monthly newsletter, I did not want to miss an opportunity to let you know how you can participate and share your thoughts on the future of some important District 1 projects. I would encourage you to check out the information below about how you can be part of the Proctor Neighborhood Plan or the Titlow Park Master Plan Community Workshop and share your thoughts soon!
I hope to see many of you out at Proctor Arts Fest this weekend enjoying one of my favorite summertime events!
Share Your Feedback on the Draft Actions for the Proctor Neighborhood Plan, and Help Us Spend $50,000!
Since fall 2022, we’ve been working with you and your neighbors to develop a vision for the future of Proctor. We’ve been collecting your feedback and ideas through surveys, community events, focus groups, and by working closely with our Proctor Steering Group.
City Staff will be out and about in the community over the coming months. Come find us and members of our Steering Group and tell us what you think about the Draft Plan Actions and Community Booster Project!

Titlow Park Master Plan Community Workshop
District 1 is lucky to have many wonderful parks and Titlow is a Hines family favorite. Following more than a decade and a half of long-range visioning and planning for Titlow Park, Metro Parks is preparing to move forward with key Master Plan improvements.
This Sunday, August 6th from 1:00-3:00pm, the community is invited to a workshop at the Titlow Lodge and a guided lagoon tour to discuss optional approaches for lagoon restoration and stormwater management improvements, as well as learn about the replacement plans for the pedestrian bridge to Hidden Beach.
Please be sure to check out cityoftacoma.org for City updates and resources and, as always, please feel free to share your thoughts and concerns with me directly at john.hines@cityoftacoma.org. You can also call me at (253) 312-5620 if you have questions.
I invite you to also tune in to the City Council’s Study Session or Council meetings on Tuesdays via TV Tacoma, Facebook Live, or Zoom. Access information is available at cityoftacoma.org/councilmeetings.
Also, if you enjoy getting this newsletter and regular updates from me, please feel free to share it with others who you think might find it valuable and encourage them to subscribe.
