NOTICE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY

The City of Tacoma has determined the following property to be surplus to the needs of the City:

1. Former Swan Creek Library located at 3828 Portland Ave.

2. Former Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library located at 1902 S. Cedar St.

In January of 2011, the Tacoma Public Library closed the Swan Creek and MLK Libraries.

Within the next several months, the City will begin the process of selling the properties by a “Request for Proposal” process. The intent is to improve and enhance the communities in which the libraries are located.

City staff is currently working with the Central Neighborhood Council (for MLK Library) and the Eastside Neighborhood Advisory Council (for Swan Creek Library) to obtain neighborhood feedback on the sale process.

For more information about the sale process please go to the City’s Surplus Sale website at http://www.govme.org/govME2/service/Surplus/SurplusProperty.aspx.

For questions or comments, please contact Conor McCarthy at 253-591-5320; cmcarthy@cityoftacoma.org.
