City Facilities Closed to the Public - The City of Tacoma is working closely with local, state, and national health officials to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Beginning at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, City facilities including the administrative offices at the Tacoma Municipal Building complex (747 Market St. and 733 Market St.) will be closed to the public until further notice.
City Operated Parks Facility Closures - Following Governor Inslee's emergency “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order and to help minimize the spread of COVID-19, the City of Tacoma’s Public Works Department is closing gathering spaces, structures and parking lots at the following City operated parks starting Thursday, March 26, until further notice.
Limited Access to the Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center Starting March 25 - In accordance with Governor Inslee's emergency “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order and to help minimize the spread of COVID-19, the City of Tacoma’s Solid Waste Management is limiting access to the Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen St.) starting Wednesday, March 25, until further notice.
TAGRO Facility Closes to Residential Customers on March 26, Home Delivery is Still Available -Starting Thursday, March 26, the TAGRO facility located at the Central Treatment Plant (2301 Cleveland Way, Gate 6) will be closed to residential customers until further notice. During this time, the TAGRO free pile will also be closed to the public. Residential customers can still schedule deliveries by calling (253) 502-2150 from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
City of Tacoma Offers COVID-19 Stabilization Loans to Tacoma’s Small Businesses - In an effort to mitigate the negative economic impacts of COVID-19 on Tacoma's small businesses, the City of Tacoma's Community and Economic Development Department has established a COVID-19 Stabilization Loan Program.
Metro Parks Facility and Program Updates - Parks remain open for visitors to walk, cycle and enjoy nature. However, Metro Parks has closed playgrounds, sports courts, picnic shelters and skate parks to support Gov. Jay Inslee’s orders to discourage groups from gathering, as well as to address the workload the park district can accommodate with diminished staffing levels.

Public Works, Real Property Services, has received a Petition to Vacate from Titus-Will Enterprises, Inc. This includes a portion of South Oregon Street, lying between and abutting the Titus-Will and Costco properties bounded by South Pine Street and South Sprague Avenue. A Public Hearing has been tentatively scheduled for May 28, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Tacoma Municipal Building. This includes a portion of East T Street, lying south of the Lister School driveway, for conversion to a private park entrance. A Public Hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 25, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Tacoma Municipal Building.
