The Draft Environmental Impact Statement comment period for the Everett Link Extension is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to review the Draft EIS and share comments. Next, we’ll review the comments received and provide a summary to the Sound Transit Board and the public. Early next year the Board will confirm, modify, or identify a preferred alternative, which we will evaluate along with other alternatives in the Final EIS.
Environmental review will continue through publication of the Final EIS, expected in late 2027. In early 2028, the Federal Transit Administration may issue a Record of Decision, and the Sound Transit Board would identify which route, stations, and Operations and Maintenance Facility North location would be built. Following these decisions, the project will go through Final Design before starting construction around 2030.
Stay tuned for additional project updates and engagement opportunities. We’ll send project updates via this email listserv and post to the project webpage.
There are still many opportunities to learn more and stay involved. We are available to provide briefings and presentations for community groups, neighborhood organizations, businesses, property owners and tenants, and other interested parties.
Property owners and community members are encouraged to reach out with questions or to schedule a briefing. Contact us at everettlink@soundtransit.org or 206-370-5533.
