The Draft Environmental Impact Statement comment period ends Nov. 2
Thanks to everyone who attended our Draft EIS public meetings/hearings earlier this month! If you missed them, there’s still time to tell us what you think about the Everett Link Extension Draft Environmental Impact Statement. The 45-day public comment period closes in just a few days on Nov. 2.
The Draft EIS examines how different project options could affect the environment and nearby neighborhoods. It shares key information to help you compare the options and see how each one could shape future light rail access in your community. Your feedback matters, and it will help shape how light rail will serve your community in the future.
If you haven’t commented yet, we encourage you to share your ideas, concerns, and questions before the comment window closes. You can send us your comments by Nov. 2. in any language using the following methods. It’s your light rail, your voice, your future — we want to hear from you!

What happens next?
After the Draft EIS comment period closes on Nov. 2, we’ll compile and evaluate comments and provide a summary to the Sound Transit Board and the public. Then the board will confirm, modify, or identify a preferred alternative, which we will evaluate along with other alternatives in the Final EIS.
This environmental review will continue through publication of the Final EIS, expected in late 2027. In early 2028, the Federal Transit Administration may issue a Record of Decision, and the Sound Transit Board would identify which route, stations, and Operations and Maintenance Facility North location will be built. Following these decisions, the project will go through Final Design before starting construction around 2030.
