Sharing what we heard
This spring, we invited community members to learn about early station designs and share feedback on potential station access projects. More than 6,000 people visited the online open house, over 150 people attended our in-person open houses, and we received 625 survey responses.
Twice a year, we also publish summaries of our broader community engagement activities. From January through June 2026, we received more than 300 inquiries through the project inbox, held 18 community meetings and property owner briefings, and sent five project email updates to our subscribers.
We recently added more information for potentially affected property and business owners to the TDLE online open house. The updated resources include information about the property acquisition and relocation process, available benefits and assistance, and answers to frequently asked questions. Here are a few key things to know:
-
Sound Transit expects to send another notification letter to property owners whose properties are identified as potentially affected by the project before the Final EIS is published, expected in 2027. Receiving the letter would not mean that Sound Transit has decided to acquire all or part of a property. Potential property needs will continue to be refined as environmental review and design advance.
-
If Sound Transit later determines that property acquisition would require a resident or business to relocate, eligible households and businesses may receive relocation assistance. Depending on eligibility and circumstances, assistance may include advisory services, moving expenses, replacement housing payments, or business re-establishment expenses.
- Additional resources are available online, including the updated TDLE Property Owners Folio and answers to frequently asked questions.
This summer, the TDLE team participated in nine local community events and connected with more than ,800 community members at Sound Transit project booths. Thank you to everyone who asked questions, spoke with the project team, and learned about TDLE.

Stay connected
Sound Transit will advance project design and fieldwork as we prepare for the Final EIS. We will also continue working with Tribes, local jurisdictions, property owners, businesses, community members, and other stakeholders throughout the project corridor.
Stay tuned for future project updates. Also, encourage your friends, family, and community members to subscribe.
