Beginning as early as Monday, Oct. 5, crews working for Sound Transit will start preparing Lynnwood City Center Station for Stride service. Work will begin at the bus layover area and continue for approximately six months. During this time, crews will install two new inductive EV charging pads and retrofit bus bay D1 to accommodate Stride’s battery electric buses.
Work at the layover area will not affect bus routes. This area is not accessible to the public.
The passenger pick-up and drop-off lane on 202nd St SW will be restricted during construction. Drivers should use the south parking lot for all drop-offs during this time (see map).
The bus bay retrofitting work at bus bay D1 could start as early as mid-October. Routes that use bus bays D1 and D2 will be shifted to accommodate the work.
Additional information about changes will be communicated prior to retrofitting work beginning.
These improvements are key to ensuring that Stride can deliver fast, frequent, and reliable rapid transit service along S2. For more information on Stride S2 bus service, visit the Stride webpage.
