Westbound right turn lane closure on Grady Way
Starting Monday, Aug. 24, Sound Transit will close westbound S Grady Way’s right turn lane, from Shattuck Avenue S to Rainer Avenue S. This closure will allow construction crews to perform sewer tie-in work for Stride S1 construction.
Westbound traffic on S Grady Way will be reduced to one lane. Most of the work will occur near the intersection of S Grady Way and Rainier Avenue S. There will be noise and vibrations from concrete breaking and saw cutting equipment. Please slow down and follow posted signage when driving through the area. See the map below for where traffic will be affected.
This work is part of the road improvements for the future Stride S1 bus line. Road improvements are key to ensuring the Stride S1 buses can move quickly on the route. This work will allow Sound Transit to deliver fast, frequent, and reliable rapid transit service along S1. For more information on Stride S1 bus service, visit the Stride webpage.
