Short-term sidewalk closure on SR 522 61st Ave NE
Starting June 24 at 6 p.m., crews will close the sidewalk between the corner of 61st Ave NE and the parking lot entrance to the Uplake Center for night work. This closure will occur during weeknight work hours (6 p.m.– 6 a.m., Monday–Friday) until Wednesday, July 1.
Pedestrians must follow a detour during the closure (see attached map):
- Pedestrians approaching from the west will detour up to 181st St via 60th Ave NE, before following the detour signs back towards SR-522 (Bothell Way) via 61st Ave NE.
- Pedestrians approaching from the east will detour up to 181st St via 61st Ave NE, before following the detour signs back towards SR-522 (Bothell Way) via 60th Ave NE.
This work will not affect access to the Uplake Center. The sidewalk will reopen daily at 6 a.m.
During this time, our construction crews will do preparation work for installing the Stride bus platform. This work will include potholing, jackhammering, and boring. These platforms are designed for improved accessibility and travel times. For more information on Stride S3 bus service, visit the Stride webpage.

- Crews will also work at the location on Tuesday, June 23. They will escort pedestrians around the work during that time.
- This work will cause noise due to the equipment and work performed.
- Plan ahead, leave early, and allow extra time to reach your destination.
- Due to inclement weather or unforeseen issues, dates and times are subject to change.
