Summer 2025 fairs and festivals recap
This summer, the Stride engagement team attended eight fairs and festivals across the project corridors, engaging more than 4,900 attendees. At these community events, the engagement team discussed the transit improvements coming to the cities and communities Stride will serve, educated children and adults on how transit reliability will improve after time savings tools like Business Access Transit lanes and express toll lanes are built, and responded to questions on Stride and other Sound Transit projects. Here are the events we attended:
-
Canyon Park Resource Fair
-
Lake Forest Park Farmers Market
-
Tukwila Community Play Day
Upcoming Stride information sessions
As Stride prepares for construction later this year, the engagement team will host information sessions at senior centers and libraries along the project corridors to share updates about final design plans, chat about upcoming construction, and build general awareness of transit resources.
We will conduct information sessions at senior centers this fall. Senior citizens represent a significant portion of transit users in the region who are likely to use Stride once service begins. At Sound Transit, we are committed to inclusive engagement and ensuring that our engagement activities are accessible to as many residents as possible. We may even play a few rounds of transit bingo!
In early 2026, we will expand our information sessions to libraries along both the S1 and S2 corridors, from Burien to Lynnwood. We will host fun events that offer kids, families, and the interested public the chance to learn more about the Stride program, transit, and how to use the Sound Transit system. Stay tuned for more information early next year and be on the lookout for our informational displays at a library near you!
